“Older” a new song by Joseph Duveen and Lodato is taking the clubs by storm. The song has topped the charts receiving praise from various quarters including EDM taste makers. The duo has made history for being the first time ever new artist’s new release with an Indie Label to make it to number one on Billboard Dance on the first shot. The duo has beaten the big shots in the music industry to emerge with the number one club song. They have edged Out Rihanna, Bruno Mars and the Weekend, emerging as the top Club song in the industry the week of Jan 7th 2017.
In a Question and Answer session at EDM, Joseph Duveen who considers himself more of a songwriter and producer than an artist said that their new hit promises to give electrifying spirit while inspiring both the young and the young at heart.
While asked what inspired him to write the song, Joseph Duveen said that he has been writing songs since he was 12 and that “Older” was just a random song that he wrote without having to over think.” It was all based around the chord progression on the piano that started it,” said Joseph.
Lodato and Joseph Duveen are from the same neighborhood, they have grown together in music.
Joseph believes that DJs have a big role to play in the world music, he equates them to diplomats. He revealed that he is lined up for a big performance at the annual Atlantic City DJ Expo later in the year alongside Cash Cash.
While speaking to Billboard Lodato said that they feel honored to have hit number one on the Billboard dance club songs category. He continued by thanking the DJs all over the country for the overwhelming support that they have shown throughout the period. Joseph Duveen calls the moment “a great way to start the New Year.” Duveen could not hide his joy when the news that their first hit together has topped the chart. He is optimistic that there are more good things to come in the future, he looks forward with much hope promising to release more hits in the year 2017.
